Her Story
From Passion to Purpose
Growing up, Elaine always had dogs in her life, usually a rescue or a stray her dad brought home. Her curiosity about dog behavior eventually grew into fostering, boarding, and structured pack walks, sometimes with as many as 10 dogs at a time. But it was Simba, her sweet, goofy, reactive Golden Retriever, who changed everything. Wanting to better understand and communicate with him, Elaine signed them up for formal training in December 2022. At their very first lesson, the trainer noticed Elaine’s natural ability handling Simba and mentioned they were hiring.
Three weeks later, Elaine began her journey as a professional dog trainer. She went on to create Boardwalk Dog Training, bringing together years of experience with dogs and a background in hospitality, business, and community leadership. Today, her approach is about more than obedience. It’s about patience, structure, clear communication, and understanding the human on the other end of the leash too.
